Saturday evening Trevor and I spent 3 hours exploring along the Columbia River. We walked around tried and true spots that we knew had amazing views of the river. We also found new spots that we didn't know existed. With the water being so low the river has taken on a different look. We quickly decided a photo session was in order. So Sunday night we set out with Brogan to take some photos. We ended up at Kamloops, a favorite cliff jumping location for the 3 of us. We spend most of our summer there, jumping off cliffs, using the rope swing, and the boys brave jumping from the bridge as I take photos of their death defying acts. 2 weeks ago when I had visited Kamloops the water was incredibly low, showing the magnitude of the cliffs we so often jumped off. However, when we arrived on Sunday the water had risen quite a bit. The river was moving so fast, the rapids were building, and waves were crashing with force against the rock walls. It was raging...in a very scary way. Brogan took one look over the edge and just started shaking his head. Anyone who entered it's waters would have been taken captive and none of us were willing to be owned by the river. As frightening as the force of the water was, it was also mesmerizing. We spent much of our time wide eyed at the force of nature. The raging water made for some cool portraits.

Always,
Cassie
